The 2011 Miss Black Iowa USA event is just around the corner.  Applying to compete for the coveted title of Miss Black Iowa USA is a simple process. Please follow these steps:

After you review and are comfortable with the eligibility requirements, you'll next have to fill out

Prepare to compete and compete to win by reviewing the categories of competition and thinking about what you’ll do and wear in each. What will your talent be? Practice interview questions with a trusted friend. What will your evening gown look like? Once you’ve registered, Miss Black Iowa USA will be there for all contestants to answer questions and give guidance.

More Important Information about the Competition
Looking your very best and presenting yourself in a professional and friendly way is one key element of a queen. Wardrobe requirements to compete include:

  •  Suit for personal interview
  •  Delegate introduction - black cocktail dress and black
     pumps for opening dance number and introduction
  •  Outfit for personal fitness
  •  Black leggings (3/4 length), white socks, and all white tennis shoes for a group
     production number
  •  Outfit for your talent routine
  •  Evening Gown
  •  Other accessories and toiletries you may need, make-up, jewelry, etc.

Order of Pageant Competition
You will compete in the following categories in this order at the pageant:

  1. Personal Interview
  2. Personal Fitness
  3. Talent -  ALL TALENT ROUTINES MUST BE 2 MINUTES OR LESS! Participants
      are responsible for their own props and / or providing music if needed.
  4. Evening Gown
  5. Question & Answer
