The Miss Black Iowa USA Organization exists to promote local and statewide leadership among African-American women.  The organization provides a forum for African-American women to showcase their knowledge and talent on a local and state platform while promoting education and public service of its state representatives. 

 
 

 
 
The Return on Investment
African-American Women who….
   are provided a forum to display their knowledge and talent on a state and national platform.
   serve as public servants and recognize the value of giving back to their communities.  
     Thousands of hours of community service is performed for numerous non-profit
     organizations.
   identify a platform and develop strategies that lead efforts to empower, uplift and heighten
     awareness of various issues impacting our community.
   improve their self esteem, strengthen their identity, and gain knowledge and skills that help
     them compete in a global economy.
  • serve as positive role models within their communities, throughout the state and serve as a
     national delegate on behalf of all Iowans.
  • are recognized for their academic achievements and gain the opportunity to compete for
    scholarships to further their education and/or career training.
 
 
Strategic Activities
The strategic activities that the Miss Black Iowa USA organization conducts to accomplish its mission include, but are not limited to:
  • Producing annual event to select state delegates.
  • Awarding delegates for their contributions in their communities – leadership, service, and  
    academic achievement.
  • Managing and mentoring the winning Miss Black Iowa who will:
     ► perform public service or performs talent for communities throughout the state.
     serve as public speaker at various community events or displays knowledge and talent
         throughout the community.
     ► implement a plan to address her “personal platform” and partners with non profit
         organizations to heighten community awareness.
     may serve as “spokesperson” on behalf of the organization for organization sponsor.
     ► receive personal and professional development sessions to prepare for
         national competition and personal and professional development.
     ► receive information and resources to assist them to establish a “holistic” healthy lifestyle --
         social, economic, physical, mental, spiritual, and cultural.
     ► conduct community workshops that partner with organizations that focus on 
         empowerment  individuals and families.
 
 
 Results & Final Outcomes
   African-American women in Iowa are educated, confident, and equipped with the
     knowledge, skill and resources needed to achieve academic, professional, and personal
     success.
   African American women are strengthened with tools and personal development
     leading to successful lives, careers, and families.
   Healthy individuals lead to healthy families and communities.
