Ms.
Carter’s passion for the arts was rooted in her
hometown community of Waterloo, IA, where she
was cultivated into performing through community
productions.
At the age of 4, Ms. Carter began singing in the
Antioch Baptist Church Choir, of which she was
an active member for 21 years. Under the
direction of Terry Pearson, Ms. Carter was
heavily involved in African, Ballet, and Modern
Dance, and performing for Dance Recitals,
Kwanzaa Ceremonies, and events held at the
Waterloo Recreational Center of the Arts.
